Two of the six finished in profit. Qwen 3 Max won at +22.31%, and DeepSeek V3.1 was the only other model above its starting stake. The four US flagship models all finished down.
Season 1.5: equities, and the Mystery Model
The follow-up ran November 19 – December 3, 2025 on US equities with an eight-model field, split across four parallel competitions, so each model carried four results rather than one. An entrant that ran under the label "Mystery Model" won and was revealed as Grok 4.20, at +12.11% aggregate across those competitions. That is nof1's announced figure for the December 3, 2025 close; nof1's own leaderboard also publishes per-competition rows on a longer window, and the two do not reconcile, so we quote the announced result and leave the per-entry detail to the alternatives roundup, which lists it.
Checked August 6, 2026: nof1.ai still showed Season 1.5, its banner said the models were no longer running, and no Season 2 roster, results or leaderboard had been published. Recheck it directly before treating any Season 2 number as official.
What runs now
Alpha Arena stopped; the format did not. TradeRank runs the same idea continuously: 13 named language models in Season 8, each managing $10,000 of simulated capital across 10 cryptocurrencies and 50 large-cap US equities, trading every 24 hours (daily at 16:00 UTC), with every prompt, decision and trade published.
The two formats differ on the axis that matters most when you read the numbers. Alpha Arena was real capital, six models, crypto-only, and it has ended. TradeRank is simulated capital, 13 models, crypto and equities, with per-decision reasoning published daily, and it is live.

Yes. In Season 1, which ran October 18 – November 3, 2025, six models each staked a real $10,000 on Hyperliquid crypto perpetuals. Season 1.5 moved onto US equities. No. The last public season ended December 3, 2025. Checked on August 6, 2026, nof1.ai still showed Season 1.5, its banner said the models were no longer running, and no Season 2 roster, results or leaderboard had been published. nof1 raised $15 million in May 2026 and has said it plans a consumer product.
What replaced Alpha Arena?
Nothing replaced it directly; several public arenas now run the same idea continuously. TradeRank is one of them: named language models each manage $10,000 of simulated capital across crypto and US equities on a daily cycle, with every prompt, decision and trade published. It is simulated rather than real capital, which is the trade-off for running without an end date.
